Powerful Voices, United March: Sacramento & Delano Honor Legacy, Demand Justice

On March 29 and 31, thousands marched through Sacramento and Delano in two powerful events led by SEIU, UDW, and community leaders. With drum-lines, low riders, and speeches from leaders like SEIU President Arnulfo De La Cruz and Attorney General Rob Bonta, both marches delivered strong messages of unity, justice, and workers' rights.

Thousands gathered in Sacramento on March 29 for a vibrant 1.5-mile march that began at Southside Park and concluded at the California State Capitol. The energy was electric as SEIU members, community allies, and passionate advocates flooded the streets, holding signs high and chanting in solidarity.

Led by SEIU Vice President Kim Evon, CLC Executive Director Fabrizio Sasso, and officials from UDW and UHW, the march featured drum-line dancers, low riders, and a clear message: Protect People.

With unity at its core, the event served as both a rallying cry and a celebration of collective power. The sea of purple SEIU shirts was impossible to miss, and the spirit of community resonated from start to finish.

March 31 – Delano, CA

Two days later, the movement continued in Delano, where another powerful march began at Memorial Park and ended at the historic 40 Acres. This symbolic site—deeply connected to the farmworker movement—served as the perfect backdrop for a day of reflection, resistance, and resolve.

Speakers included SEIU California President Arnulfo De La Cruz, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and several local leaders who inspired the crowd with messages of justice, unity, and honoring the labor and civil rights movements of the past.

A Movement in Full Force

With a combined turnout of at least 5,000 people, these back-to-back events showcased the strength and resilience of our communities. From Sacramento to Delano, the message was clear: We stand united for worker rights, immigrant justice, and dignity for all.

Special thanks to everyone who made these events possible and to the amazing members, volunteers, and supporters who showed up and showed out. The fight continues—and we march on!
